If lets say a 16 yr old has sex with lets say a 15 year old (in New Zealand the law says you have to be 16 to consent to sex) what would happen to the 16 yr old if they had sex with a minor?|||Hopefully they would go to jail, get raped by their very large cell-mate and have to live out their lives as registered sex offenders.|||I'm sure New Zealand has an "Age of Consent" law which means the 15 year old cannot give consent. As such the 16 year old has committed an offense.
Most likely if the offense was reported and the 16 year old was adjudicated they could technically suffer the fullest extent of punishment allowable by law.|||well in the us 18 and older cant have sex with 18 and younger.|||sent to jail by the minors parents.|||In the US it would be draw. They are both considered minors and no crime was committed. However, if that person was 17 or older it would be a different story.
