I am 2 and a half weeks late. And planning on taking a pregnancy test later on today. I had sex last night, can that be a factor for getting a false result?|||A pregnancy test screens your urine for a certain chemical that your body ONLY produces if you're pregnant. The presence of any sperm/ejaculate (which, there won't be any in your URINE anyways) is irrelevant, since the test is looking for that special hormone that your body makes during pregnancy. Nothing else going on in your body matters.|||Nope. Pregnancy tests work by detecting a hormone (hCG) in your urine. This hormone comes from a fertilized egg (with exceptions like some fertility drugs, which I assume you are not on).
Basically, there are no hormones in semen (or any contraceptives you may have used last night) that will cause your test to falsely read positive. If your test comes back positive, you are pregnant because of some sex you had about a month ago, not from last night.
Also, I would recommend a digital test that says YES or NO or PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT, since that way there will be no mistaking "is that a line?" "is that two lines?" "is that a plus sign?"
Good luck, and I hope you get the result you want!|||No the test measures a certain hormone in your urine that you only produce when pregnant (and sometimes if you're on fertility drugs) so it will not change the results. Just a suggestion though, I took my first pregnancy test in the evening and got a negative and the next morning I took another and got a positive. My doc said that the morning urine is the best to use because it's been sitting in your bladder all night and the hormone will be the strongest because it isn't diluted with the fluids you drank during the day.|||false positives are rare but can happen and false negatives are pretty common so no matter the resault I highly suggest a blood test. I don't think that it can affect the resault but i suppose it is possible do to irritations and vaginal acids and all that jazz. take the test and get a blood test to be sure. you may be further along then you thought as well because it is common for woman to get the first period during a pregnancy. Good luck.|||Sex will not change the results of a pregnancy test. At home pregnancy tests check for a pregnancy hormone in your urine, sex won't change the levels of the hormone.|||No, the test detect the pregnancy hormones. Either your body is producing them or not, sex doesn't affect it either way.|||No, having intercourse prior to taking a pregnancy test has no effect on the results. Good luck.|||No.. If you're pregnant it will show up.. if you're not you're not. Sex will not do anything to the results. Its a hormone thing.|||Thats not going to do anything. If you are pregnant your pregnant and the test will say so.|||No it should not have any effect on the results|||umm.. no, i don't think so.|||no
