How long b4 sex should a routine of contraceptive pills be started?

Plz tell the details of contracetive pills taken routinely, and how long before actual sex should it be started... Also, plz tell whether I cud take ipill instead for just 3 or 4 sexual encounters...|||If you start taking your pill the week that your period starts (usually that sunday) then you should ideally be protected after 7 days of taking the pills, but most reccommend that you wait at least a month.

You could take the pill for just a few "encounters" but it would do you more harm than good. Taking the pill for just a month or two will just mess up your hormones.

Also, a pill will not protect you from STDs and a few random sex encounters are bound to put you in contact with some foreign germs. You should seriously consider using a condom. If he doesn't want to put one on... there are female versions available.|||All birth control's are different. When you get on birth control your doctor will talk to you about what types of birth control would be easiest for you (Pill, shot, Ring, Patch) then they will talk to you about how long until you are protected (for me I am on Yasmin and I had to wait 2 weeks)

|||Use condoms each time until you see a doctor or the family planning clinic. The pill and it's alternatives need to be discussed with you in detail and you need to know what to do if you forget taking the pill.|||You have to finish the first 3packs, then you are safe. But then if you are not so active, why don't you opt for comdoms. its good because they don't only prevent pregnancy|||You should uses a back up form of birthcontrol for the first three months is what i was told for the kind i was on anyways.|||i know i dont know you or anything about you, but you are too young to be having sex. dont do something you will regret later on. you seem to be a young teenager, and with everything going around from stds to pregnancy, at your age it is really not worth that kind of risk. take it from a guy, never let a guy tell you that he doesnt want to wear a condom because it doesnt feel the same or for any reason, ALWAYS USE A CONDOM. tell him he is right and he wont feel anything if he doesnt wear one, even with birth control there is still a risk of STDs which are no joke, it can happen to you, i know far too many people that it has badly effected, its just not worth it. take it from a college guy, and just have fun making out with guys for a few more years; in my opinion its more fun, less risky, and a lot more intimate. really do your research, there is countless amounts of information about this all over the internet, from planned parenthood to webmd you can find accurate information, but also beware of the source, everything that looks true may not be.|||Well you need to take the pill after having sex within 24-48 hours.
